Green bodies’ porous structure, i.e. mesostructure, affects dramatically the functional parameters of the optical ceramics obtained by reactive sintering. Characteristics of the mesostructure are proposed to regulate by pre-annealing of green bodies at temperatures below the phase formation and consolidation.
